Overview

Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring a Liability Claims Adjuster. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Hummelstown, PA.

 

The Liability Claims Adjuster position is primarily responsible for all aspects of the insurance claims management process as well as assisting the Claims, Safety, Risk, and Quality Managers with their respective administrative needs. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial aspects of all Auto and General Liability claims management including but not limited to claims filing, processing, communication with pertinent parties, and associated recordkeeping
  • Negotiate first party claims settlements using expertise and research-based judgments
  • Maintain electronic copies of all claims filed with our insurance carriers and TPA
  • Estimate cost of claims: first party and third-party auto repairs, property damage repairs, bodily injuries, legal, etc.
  • Revise costs as claims develop
  • Recommend legal action when settlements are not achievable.
  • Compose, type, and edit various correspondence, legal notices, reports and memoranda for the Claims, Safety, Risk or Quality Managers
  • Assist Claims Manager and VP of Safety and Risk with risk analysis process
  • Assist Claims Manager with incident investigations
  • Assist with development and production of claims, safety, risk, and quality policies and procedures
  • Maintain key relationships with various insurance company representatives
  • Attend and participate in various department meetings as necessary
  • Perform special projects as needed or assigned by the Claims, Safety, Risk, and Quality Managers and VP of Safety and Risk
  • Review and approve claim expenses proposed by the TPA adjusters: Surveillance, Medical Experts, Forensic experts, IA's, etc

The employee is also expected to perform other duties and functions as required from time to time.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively 
  • Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) 
  • Strong time-management skills, as some tasks will be time sensitive
  • Strong claim negotiation skills

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree and three (3) years minimum claims experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience  

Preferred Education & Experience: 

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of Five (5) years of claims experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the industry
