Overview

Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring an Application Engineer to work out of our Hummelstown, PA office. 

 

The Application Engineer is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications using the Microsoft .NET framework. Your role is ultimately responsible for engineering and supporting all designated systems and business processes while acting in accordance with the company's values, vision and mission. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of developers, designers, and Business Systems Analysts to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions. 
  • Front-end and back-end development, ensuring the seamless integration of user interfaces, data storage, and business logic. 
  • Software Development: Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications using the .NET framework and associated technologies. Develop efficient and scalable code that meets project requirements and follows industry best practices. 
  • Application Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and bug fixes for existing applications. Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure the smooth operation of software systems. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and project managers, to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure the successful delivery of software solutions. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. 
  • Technical Design and Architecture: Contribute to the technical design and architecture of software applications. Design and implement efficient database structures and optimize database performance. 
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute unit tests to ensure the reliability and accuracy of software applications. Identify and fix software defects and vulnerabilities. Assist in the implementation of quality assurance practices. 
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and user manuals. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to the team. 
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies related to .NET development. 
  • Continuously enhance your technical skills and share knowledge with team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on .NET technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of C#, .NET framework, ASP.NET, MVC, WPF, SQL Server, and Web API. 
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and ability to write efficient SQL queries. 
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile practices. 
  • Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment. 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions. 
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively 
  • Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
